Senior Market Research Analyst
Responsibilities
Research local, regional, and national markets to identify opportunities for geographic and practice area expansion.
Evaluate consumer needs, preferences, behaviors, and how customers select legal services.
Research competitors, including law firms, legal technology companies, legal marketplaces, and lead-generation businesses.
Analyze competitor positioning, service offerings, geographic coverage, customer acquisition approaches, and market differentiation.
Monitor legal industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging market trends.
Evaluate customer acquisition channels, campaigns, positioning, and messaging to identify opportunities for improvement.
Conduct customer and market research through interviews, surveys, reviews, internal teams, and other sources.
Review internal business needs and workflows to identify areas requiring market research into potential third-party technology, vendors, or service providers.
Research and evaluate external vendors and service providers based on company requirements, market offerings, pricing, capabilities, reputation, and fit.
Assist internal teams with the evaluation, selection, and onboarding of recommended vendors.
Monitor the legal technology and services vendor landscape for new products and providers relevant to the business.
Prepare clear reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations for company leadership.
Support decisions around market entry, customer segmentation, positioning, vendor selection, and new service opportunities.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Economics, Communications, Market Research, or a related field.
6 to 10 years of professional experience in market research, consumer insights, competitive intelligence, market strategy, or a closely related field.
Experience conducting market, customer, competitor, and industry research.
Experience evaluating customer needs, market opportunities, and customer acquisition initiatives.
Strong commercial judgment and ability to translate research into actionable recommendations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
High attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-moving environment.
Preferred
Prior experience in the legal industry, legal technology, legal services, or working with law firms is strongly preferred.
Familiarity with consumer legal services, personal injury, litigation, or law firm customer acquisition.
Experience evaluating, selecting, or onboarding vendors.
Experience supporting geographic expansion, new service launches, or market entry.
Familiarity with legal advertising, client acquisition, referral networks, or consumer legal marketplaces.
